Your budgeting app shouldn't cut into your budget. You shouldn't need another subscription to reduce your subscriptions.

We decided to offer one-time payment plans for personal use because we believe that's how a personal finance app should work. Personal customers should have the freedom and peace of mind of lifetime access, while business users continue to pay to keep the lights on.

Fintable has been around for more than 5 years and is still growing steadily. However, business users now make up the majority of our revenue. Our marketing consultants keep telling us that we should focus on B2B enterprises, but we find the idea of schmoozing suits to be boring and sleazy. We are most passionate about helping real people in their personal lives.

What's the catch? You need to trust us to keep building and improving the underlying platform, while offering the same features for personal use at no extra cost. That's the only reason we have limits by "transaction volume" (and we did just double those limits to $1 million per year). Transaction limits are necessary to make Fintable more affordable for personal and low-income use, by allowing higher cashflow businesses to partially subsidize the cost of developing and maintaining the platform for everyone. But it's not a weird form of trickle-down economics, it's what actually makes the whole concept inspiring and fun to work on.
