Metro Credit Union is a member-owned credit union serving the Omaha metropolitan area of Nebraska and neighboring western Iowa in the United States. Founded in 1951 on the campus of what is now the University of Nebraska Medical Center, it now serves more than 44,000 members through five full-service branches and digital banking. Membership is limited to people who live, work, worship, attend school or regularly do business in Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders, Cass or Washington County, Nebraska, or Pottawattamie, Harrison or Mills County, Iowa, and to immediate family of current members. It offers savings, checking, money market accounts, certificates, IRAs, consumer loans, mortgages, home-equity lines and Visa cards, and separately publishes business-account disclosures.
